In June of 2001, Freedom Industries purchased the Mining Chemicals Division of Ciba Specialty Chemicals. In addition to acquiring an extensive list of monitoring equipment, feed equipment, and support equipment; Freedom also hired the entire sales/service staff form the former Ciba division. Freedom is now the exclusive distributor for a number of unique Ciba flocculants used for precipitation/clarification throughout the mining industry.

In addition to surfactant technology received in the acquisition of TETRA Performance Chemicals, Freedom also retained the rights to a full line of emulsion breakers designed to break oil-in-water as well as water-in-oil emulsions. TETRA originally developed the product line to support their extensive work in the Oil & Gas industry.
